    He was from Dompierre-sur-Mer in the canton and arrondissment of La Rochelle, Charente-Maritime, France. It was previously called Lardilliere.

    Occupation:
    He was a farmer for M. De Repentigny. In October of 1647, Jacques was given the responsibility of developing Repentigny's farm. He was given a five year lease, which included a dwelling, 2 oxen, 2 cows, 1 heifer, and pigs. All valved at 732 livres.

    Governor Louis d'Ailleboust ceded to Jacques 4 arpents of frontal land "on the river of the great river saint Laurent in the place called le Cap rouge". The property was located between Nicolas Pinel and Pierre Gallet. The act was confirmed on 17 November 1652 by the new governor Jean de Lauzon.

    Governor de Maisonneuve gave Jacques 30 arpents of land adjoining the city, between his son-in-law Urbain Tessier and Lambert Closse, more than an arpent in the city to the north of Rue Notre-Dame, between the present Rue Saint-Laurent and Rue Saint-Joseph.

    Jacques gave proxy to Father Jean de Quen to tranfer his land near Quebec. Before 1662 the land was passed to Gilles d'Anjou.

    Occupation:
    Jacques entered into a deal with Paul de Chomedey to dig a well inside the fort of Ville-Marie, at the Place d'Armes. The agreed fee was 300 livres.
    Again on 8 June 1659 he entered into an agreement with Father Gabriel de Queylus to dig a well in the garden of the hospital. The fee was 300 livres and 10 pots of eau-de-vie.
    Another well digging enterprise happend on 16 May 1660 when Jacques agreed to dig a well for Jacques Leber. Again the fee was 300 livres and 10 pots of eau-de-vie.

    Legal Matter:
    After the death of Francoise, Jacques leased his farm to Pierre Dardenne for three years.

    Land:
    Jacques sold to Father Gilles Perot, for the Sulpicien Fathers, 5 perches and 3 feet in length by 12 feet in width, all abutting Rue Saint-Jacques, near Urbain Tessier. The price was 100 livres.

    Jacques gave to Pierre Marchand and Francoise Pugnet, before their departure to France, 152 livres to pay a debt owed to his nephew, son of Denys Archambault, in La Rochelle.
