    Hilaire accepted from the Seigneur Etienne Pezard de la Tousche a quarter of an arpent of already cleared land, located near the parish church. On the same day, the seigneur also gave him forty arpents in the village of Laborde.

    His death certificate indicates that Hilaire had died "in communion with our holy mother church, after being fortified with all the sacraments with the exception of the Eucharist, which he was not in the condition to receive".

    Marriage Contract:
    Notary Romain Becquet, at Quebec, drew up a contract between Hilaire and Antoinette Lefebvre, a Kings's Daughter. Antoinette received a prefixed dowry of 400 livres from Hilaire. She also brought an equal amount to the marriage and 50 livres the King had given her. Hilaire made his mark and Antoinette did not sign.
