Shortly after leaving port, they turned the ship around because they were taking on water from every seam. A new ship was leased, the Saint-Marguerite, and set sail a second time on 20 July 1653. The ship arrived in Quebec on 22 September. The passengers finally arrived in Montreal on 16 November.
