Age 91, died peacefully in her home, surrounded by people who loved her, on Thursday, October (incorrect date in obit, s/b September) 27, 2012. Born June 4, 1921 in Montreal, Quebec, Cecile was the heart of her family, a Detroit Tigers fan, a road trip warrior, a gentle sould and woman of deep faith and great hope, and loved by all who knew her. Preceded in death by her husband, George Simmons, she is survived by many who will miss her, including her daughter Jeanne (Dan-deceased) Gasparotto of Howell, grandchildren Dom, Annie and Amy, and her canine friend Emma. Other survivors include nephews and niece, David (Jayne) Thomas, Paul (Pam) Thomas, Sue (Mike) Bellaire, Pat Thomas, six great-nieces and nephews, and three great-great-nephews and niece, all of whom "loved her more". Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Brighton on Saturday, October 20 at 10:30 A.M. The family will receive friends before the service from 9:30 - 10:30 A.M.
