    • Notary Jean Baptiste Pothier came to the house of the merchant Rene Cuillerier, where the assets of Jean Lalonde had been accumulated, in order to proceed with the inventory and disposition. Jean Fournier of Lachine was present as a witness. They listed ordinary things, such as clothing, dishes, cloth bolts, 4 bars of soap, 8 axes, 2 picks, 10 sickles, 3 pounds of gunpowder, 12 pounds of lead balls, 3 minots of beans, 76 minots of corn, 1 barrel of bacon, 1 cow and 2 grunting pigs. Then came the listing of some small debts to be paid and some accounts to be collected, the largest of which was owed by "bonhomme Laprise": 15 livres and 6 sous. Some assets could not be brought to the scene of the inventory, i.e., a wild ox and 13 arpents of land with dwelling, valued at 100 livres or 100 days of work. This was the land located at Point Saint Louis at the end of the island.
