    The date of christening is drawn of the index of the boys baptisms at the parish of St-Thomas of La Fleche for year 1626.

    Residence:
    Three possibilities of location:
    1) According to his enlistment papers, he was from the faubourg Saint-Jacques in La Fleche, (diocese of Angers), Anjou, France. 2) The marriage contract states he is from the parish of Saint-Germain-d'Arce or Saint-Germain-le-Val, arrondissement of La Fleche.
    3) The marriage register said his place of birth was the parish of Saint-Pierre in Verron, arrondissement of La Fleche.

    Engagement Contract (indentured servant):
    At the home of notary Pierre de Lafousse and before Paul de Chomedey, Sieur de Maisonneuve, governor of the island of Montreal, and Jerome Le Royer, Sieur de la Dauversiere, administrator of the Associates, Urbain agreed to a five year contract that would pay him 90 livres per year.

    Grande Recrue:
    He left aboard the ?i?Saint-Nicolas?/i? with Marguerite Bourgeoys and the ?i?Grande Recrue?/i?. The ship had left port at Saint-Nazaire on 20 June 1653. Shortly after leaving port, they turned the ship around because they were taking on water from every seam. A new ship was leased, the Saint-Marguerite, and set sail a second time on 20 July 1653. The ship arrived in Quebec on 22 September. The passengers finally arrived in Montreal on 16 November.
