He had to admit before the Counsel that he had called her false and malicious names and to also recognize that she was a good and honorable woman. His fine was three livres, paid to the hospital, and 30 sol for court costs.

Legal Matter 1680 [3] - Rene got into a fight with Martin Moreau over something that Rene thought Moreau had said. Moreau ended up at the Hotel-Dieu. Jeanne Lecoq, wife of Moreau, filed a complaint and Rene was put into the royal jail. Rene stated that Moreau had bit him on the leg. But the Council ordered Rene to pay a fine of 20 sols to the King, 20 livres in damages to Moreau, and 6 livres to cover the hospital, doctor, and court costs.
