During the summer of 1669, Nicolas and Jeanne's daughter Marie was attacked and violated by Jacques Nourry (known as Pierre Maheux in Feings, France). They swore out a warrant in the name of Marie. Three doctors gave their opinions. On 10 August 1669 the Sovereign Council received a summary from the Assistant Attorney-General. The Council declared on 12 August 1669 that Jacques Nourry was guilty of the act and convicted him of violating Marie. He was condemned to "be hanged and strangled on a gallows; then his body taken to a public place where his head shall be severed and placed on a post". From Nourry's estate Marie would received 300 livres in damages. Another 100 livres would be divided into thirds, with one third going to the hospital and the other two thirds going to the Council for court costs.
