    Birth:
Msgr de Laval required that in the absence of a priest, a newborn child was to be conditionally baptized by a respected neighbor. The bishop learned on a visit in 1681 "that there had been born to the wife of Jean Demers, resident of the Lauzon coast, a child more than a month earlier, and that the father had neglected to have him baptized. The bishop warned him on three different occasions". The Msgr de Laval threatend then with excommunications after eight more days of disobedience. He was baptized on 26 Nov 1681.
